Crabtree & Evelyn Launches Organic Product Line With Premium Closures From CROWN

New Capping Machinery Reduces Maintenance Costs, Triples Speed Potential

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CROWN Closures Europe, an affiliate of ³Ô¹Ï51±¬ÁÏÍø Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) (³Ô¹Ï51±¬ÁÏÍø), is now supplying additional closures for an expanded selection of preserves from UK-based Crabtree & Evelyn after installing new capping machinery at C&E's new factory in Highbridge, UK.

Crabtree & Evelyn has launched its "Duchy Originals Organic" gourmet food line that includes orange marmalade and English lemon curd. ³Ô¹Ï51±¬ÁÏÍø has worked with the English luxury goods maker since 1991, providing custom-decorated closures for Crabtree & Evelyn's premium preserves. For the new organic line, ³Ô¹Ï51±¬ÁÏÍø is supplying elegantly designed closures colored in green and black with gold writing to convey a traditional English image.

The new organic products are manufactured at C&E's new Highbridge factory, where ³Ô¹Ï51±¬ÁÏÍø's Customer Technical Service (CTS) team had previously installed a new 400SD capper and 6R 17 machine-mounted hopper - both ³Ô¹Ï51±¬ÁÏÍø products - for optimal performance. This latest generation of machinery is less costly to service and is capable of capping 400 jars per minute - more than three times the capacity of the previous generation equipment.

³Ô¹Ï51±¬ÁÏÍø is providing three sizes of its RTB (Regular, Twist, with Vacuum Button) closures for C&E's new organic line: the 43-mm manufactured in Seesen, Germany; the 58-mm manufactured in Aprilia, Italy; and the 63-mm manufactured in Poole, England.
